Must-win for both sides in the title hunt
Dortmund’s 4-2 defeat to Bayern Munich last weekend was a considerable spanner in the works for their Bundesliga title push, knocking them off the top spot. Now they face surprise package Union Berlin, who are having the season of their lives in 3rd, 2 points behind their hosts.
Union will feel as though they’re still in the race for the title, having conceded just 1 goal in their last 4 league encounters. With leaders Bayern visiting 4th-placed Freiburg, who knocked them out of the cup in midweek, this could be a critical clash for their 2 closest challengers.

Roberto De Zerbi’s visitors look to add to Spurs’ problems
Tottenham will likely be deflated at the manner in which they had to settle for a point against Everton at Goodison Park after a 90th-minute screamer from unlikely hero Michael Keane. They also had a numerical advantage for half an hour of that match.
Talented Brighton striker Evan Ferguson has a lot of BIG clubs reportedly watching him and it’s no wonder, judging by the quality of his opening goal against Bournemouth on Tuesday. He was assisted by in-form Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma, who has either scored or assisted in each of his last 5 league encounters.
The Seagulls climbed up to 6th with their midweek win away to the Cherries, extending their unbeaten run in the Premier League to 5 matches. Brighton’s official Twitter account also announced after the game that both Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister will be fit for the trip to London, amid minor injury fears.
Despite all of the upheaval at Tottenham, they’re still in Champions League contention. However, with most of their rivals having played fewer games, Spurs need wins. Momentum certainly isn’t with the North Londoners, who have just 1 win in their last 6 matches across all competitions.

PSG need statement win to quieten the noise
The atmosphere around PSG at the moment could certainly be better. The French champions have now lost their last 2 home matches in the league without scoring, and only lead the way by 6 points ahead of Lens and Marseille. The Ligue 1 title is not a formality this season.
Perhaps the players, especially Lionel Messi, will be happy to be on the road again after the Argentine was booed by large sections of the Parc des Princes during their defeat to Lyon. Messi’s contract talks with the Parisian side have reportedly broken down for now, sparking rumours that he could be moving back to Barcelona. All is certainly not well in the camp.
As far as opponents Nice go, Nigerian striker Terem Moffi has directly contributed to 4 goals in his last 3 games for the club and will be a dangerous prospect for PSG’s defenders who might be short on confidence. Also, look out for plenty of EPL connections, including Kasper Schmeichel, Aaron Ramsey, Ross Barkley and on-loan Ivorian Nicolas Pepe. The last 10 LaLiga meetings between these sides stretching back to May 2018, intriguingly, have produced 6 draws. Villarreal have won just 1 match in that sequence, however.

Anfield hasn’t been one of Arsenal’s favourite arenas to visit with Jürgen Klopp at the helm. The last time Arsenal got anything away to Liverpool in a Premier League match was a 3-3 draw in January 2016. Since then, their league results there have been 3-1, 4-0, 5-1, 3-1, 3-1 and 4-0 defeats. To say that a positive result here would give them huge confidence in their ongoing title push feels like an understatement.
A man pushing to start for the hosts is James Milner. With his substitute appearance against Chelsea, the 37-year-old played his 610th Premier League match, moving him third in the all-time charts ahead of Frank Lampard. Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo only played cameo roles in a 0-0 draw at Chelsea in midweek but both should start in attack here.
By the time these sides kick off on Sunday, Arsenal’s lead at the summit could have been trimmed to 5 points by Man City, who play away to Southampton the day before. Since a defeat to City in February, Arsenal have been in imperious form with 7 consecutive league wins. They also boast the best away record in the division.
Despite their overall struggles, Liverpool have only lost 1 Premier League home match all season and they’ve beaten the likes of Man City, Man Utd and Everton at Anfield this term. They also got the better of Napoli there in the Champions League group stage. What a way to close out what promises to be a pivotal weekend in the title race.
